Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from whichsomething else can be made. So what’s low carbon life style?

Let’s look back on our daily life. every morning as soon as you open your eyes, are you used to turn on the lights immediately when the room is bright enough as long as you draw the window curtains apart? is that your habit that when you are brushing your teeth you leave the water tap running on? are you accustomed to setting the temperature of the air conditioner in your office below 26 degrees celsius? in general, a low-carbon lifestyle covers many aspects of our modern life, such as cooking, transportation, home heating, and holiday travel, which can be conducted in a way that gives the maximum reduction of personal carbon emissions. it is a life with low energy, low consumption, low expenses.

everybody knows waste paper and used coke cans are discarded everywhere. you might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers and polluting the water. our environment is the place in which we live, but it is being ruined by us.

there is a story about house and trees. it is said that a man’s house was surrounded by a lot of trees. though the wind was strong, that man could have a good rest under the trees. how comfortable the life was! one day, that man wanted to enlarge his house, so he cut down all the trees. then the autumn came without the protection. the strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. the whole house was gone with the wind. what a pity! but that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance. people shouldn’t be short-sighted. protecting the environment is everyone’s task.

as you know, there are four kinds of pollution. they are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise pollution. but what can we do to solve the pollution? i think, firstly, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. we can ask companies to use modern clean technology. in some big cities, we can limit the number of cars. secondly, we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water. we can tell factories that they are not allowed to pour waste water into the lakes and rivers. thirdly, we should not throw rubbish in parks and cities. we can pick up rubbish if we see it. we can put more rubbish bins in our parks and cities. fourthly, we can live far from the noise and make the laws to limit the noise.

the air, water and the whole atmosphere directly influenced our lives, such as the air, people may cough and it will lead to cancer. so we must try our best to keep the world clean and tidy. to reach it, i want to put forward three points to everybody---point 1: don’t spit and liter; point 2: don’t draw on the wall; point 3: clean the streets every day.

in order to make the environment clean, let’s join our hands together to make the world better.

It's the polluted world, a dirty world, caused by our irresponsible behaviors, that makes those lovely animals cry. Many of us are smart enough to know how terrible it is to have a world without animals and plants. But some people still persist in making the same errors and harming the environment. What's worse is that people are eating wild animals. Those people don't know, and more importantly, they don't want to know. This kind of behavior has caused some specific problems.

For example, medical experts have suggested that eating wild animals helped spread the terrible disease SARS. Now, our world is no longer clean and beautiful. Why? Because air, water, and noise pollution has become more and more serious. Noise pollution makes us talk more loudly and become angry more easily. Water pollution makes our rivers and lakes very dirty. Air pollution is the most serious kind of pollution. Both air pollution and water pollution are not only dangerous to our health, but also dangerous to animals and plants. We're destroying our only world. A large number of trees have been cut down, so a lot of lands have been turned into deserts. Pollution can be seen everywhere! Unquestionably it is essential that we clean up our environment. Sadly, we've not always appreciated the importance of protecting the environment.

On the streets, you can see cars producing smog. In the bathrooms, you can see students leaving the water tap on after using them. Not only the young people, but also the elderly ones throw things everywhere without thinking it's wrong, even in a beautiful park. these things are taking place every day, even in modern cities like Beijing. We can't do that any more. We must learn how to protect the environment. If everyone is aware of protecting it instead of destroying it, the world can become cleaner, more beautiful, and more peaceful. The theme of Beijing 20xx Olympic Games is "New Peking, New Olympic". It's the target owned by every Chinese. We should try our best to improve Beijing's environment for Olympics. , let's begin to act! First, start with the things around you. Don't throw rubbish onto the road. Don't talk loudly when you are outdoors. Turn off the water tap after using it. Go to school by bike or by bus instead of by private car.

Save your pocket money and contribute to environmental protection organizations. Take me as an example, I take action in order to make our only world full of happiness. I pick up rubbish and throw it into a trashcan. I collect waste paper or bottles for recycling. I plant more trees and flowers, and so on. If you do all these things just like me, it means you have done something useful to improve the environment.
